Abstract

On multiple occasions it has been heard that pregnant women cannot dye their hair, nor wear necklaces or paint their nails. These and other truths circulate in society as beliefs, myths or comments without foundation in scientific studies; However, what risks do changes in the aesthetic and personal and physical appearance of pregnant women represent? What knowledge has been articulated through the sciences? Does the sciences have the absolute Truth regarding these expressions? Hence, the present investigation constitutes a necessity to discern regarding what should be done and not during pregnancy in aesthetic matters.
